About

Kathleen Mack

I was born in Flint, Michigan. I received a BA and did graduate work in Philosophy at Marquette University. I moved to Maine in 1980 with my husband and two children. I discovered art after owning and operating Pemaquid Floorcloths for 11 years. In 1993 I sold the business and decided to concentrate on painting and sculpture. I am primarily self-taught but owe a great deal to mentors and artists Nancy Freeman, John Lorence, and Court Bennett.

I maintain a studio and gallery in Round Pond, Maine.

Sometimes the result of striving for the simplest means of expressing an idea or reaction brings a sense of accomplishment.

Part of each year is spent in Umbertide, in Umbria, Italy — the Upper Tiber Valley and its people have shaped a good deal of the work.
